Designed specifically to hold a shikishi in the Sunshōan format (12.1 x 13.6 cm), the most understated of the traditional Japanese presentation formats.
The upper fabric, a rikyūcha brown named after the tea master Sen no Rikyū and linked to the wabi-sabi aesthetic, gives way to a moegi lower section, the soft golden green of young spring shoots, finely striped and scattered with small flowers woven tone on tone.
Fabrics selected together with the Japanese artisan, who then hand-mounted the piece according to the techniques of hyōgu, the traditional Japanese art of scroll mounting. Black lacquered end caps, twisted hanging cord.
One of a kind: this fabric combination will not be reproduced identically. A rare format, to accompany a bonsai, whether in a tokonoma or a Japanese-inspired interior.
