Designed specifically to hold a shikishi in the Sunshōan format (12.1 x 13.6 cm), the most understated of the traditional Japanese presentation formats.
This warm olive green, uguisu, takes its name from the small songbird whose song announces the arrival of spring in Japan. Lower down, it gives way to a kōiro, a golden beige named after traditional incense woods, woven in a floral jacquard tone on tone.
Fabrics selected together with the Japanese artisan, who then hand-mounted the piece according to the techniques of hyōgu, the traditional Japanese art of scroll mounting. Black lacquered end caps, twisted hanging cord.
One of a kind: this fabric combination will not be reproduced identically. A rare format, to accompany a bonsai, whether in a tokonoma or a Japanese-inspired interior.
