For the tanzaku format, from 6 to 7.5 cm wide (36 cm tall): a narrow shape once used to carry a single haiku, hung for the length of a season.
To the left, a soft ivory sets a calm, understated tone. To the right, it deepens into a rich amber, recalling ripe persimmons in late autumn.
Our Japanese artisan selected the fabrics and hand-mounted the piece following hyōgu, the traditional art of scroll mounting. Black lacquered end caps, twisted hanging cord.
This colourway belongs to a small ongoing series (also available in blue and green), found again rather than only once. A quiet companion for a tokonoma or a Japanese-inspired interior.
Tanzaku shown (7.5 × 36 cm) for illustration only, not included with this kakejiku. To choose an existing tanzaku or place a fully custom order, contact L’Œuvre au Noir.
